We have a customer who recently passed, he was a great guy and fellow BMW enthusiast. When he would come in with his 540iT he'd ask if we were ready to restore his 850CSi... it had been in storage over 5 years and he wanted to sell it. After he passed we were able to coordinate with his wife to have the car towed into the shop so we could go through it and get it ready for sale. It is in 10/10 condition and drives like a brand new car...
Beautiful... what is mileage, and is it a standard or an automatic?

Thanks!

He apparently owns a car dealership, so it is a commercial sale. I looked through his most recent posts and he's done nothing offensive (other than join in on the bandwagon against that young guy who posted the burnout video - and the other 560,431 of us who flamed him didn't get banned ;)) although I noticed that he edited his posts to nothing on the AW for sale (that I'm guessing he bought).

Anywho, he'll be back, cleverly disguised I'm sure, or pay up to be a supporting advertiser (probably a preferable alternative). Nice to see that the moderators are on the job!

The 850 is a sweet car. I drove one once, an auto, and it felt incredibly heavy. Gorgeous creatures though, and probably one of the few BMWs more expensive to maintain than an M5. :)

But I agree, the wheels need to go.
I hope that the moderators reach out to him to discuss and resolve the issue. If he was posting this as a "favor to the person who owns it" then I see nothing wrong with the posts. Alternatively, if this was in fact going to be a commercial sale, then it needed to be stopped (thus "quite right" by the moderators to ban him).

That's my $0.02...

As far as the 850CSi goes, I was very tempted and seriously looking for a good one of those when this lovely Imola (pronounced "Arrest Me") Red M5 showed up on my son's radar: yes, I have to credit him with finding it! I can't say I'm sorry to have ended up with an M5 (definitely not!) but I've always had an affinity for the 850 <swoon> :wroom:
