Funny you should ask. Sunday, June 21st the car turned 30,000 miles. When I got home it was 30,022. The car will be 5 years old in October so I've averaged under 6,500 miles per year so far. I put about 700 miles on the M6 in the first 4 days (in Europe). Then no miles until it showed up in Hawaii in January 2010. After that, it was my daily driver to work for a couple of years and was averaging 8,500 miles per year. I began using a Z4 for work commuting in early 2013 and then an X1 later in 2013. I now work from home and the M6 is again my only ride (my wife uses the X1 now). So I hope to keep the miles down but on days when I do have to drive (for my watch business), I rack up 60 miles round trip. I try to keep those days down to once or twice a week in the M6.
The only other news is that a hunk of road debris (truck retread tire) hit the hood of my M6 while I was driving on the H-1 freeway in May. Dented the hood a little and dinged (cracked) the paint. So it went to the body shop where they smoothed out the hood and re-sprayed the front half of the hood. What was not all bad as that took care of a couple of rock chips I had picked up in the last 4 years. The color match is outstanding, you can't tell that anything has been redone. The use a high-tech spectral analyser which gives them the individual component paints needed. So then don't strictly need the factory paint codes.
Otherwise, things are holding up well. I'm on my 2nd set of CF wheel hub centers and hood & trunk roundels. The CF kidney grills, side grills, and mirror inserts are all doing fine.
Thanks for asking. Cheers to all.
