...but I dont think you/they need to troll the msg.brd looking for people to PM when they read a signature or a post of "next mod" or "looking for". And im sure this happens on a daily basis.

Example:

"Hello I noticed one of your posts. I can get you the RPI pulley for your e60 M5 as well as other mods. Let me know if you are interested and if there is anything else I can help with. You can also email me at <no reason to call anyone specific out here>..."

Thank you but no thank you.

People know where to find items for the most part, so this I consider as PM Spamming. I deal with getting over 10K+ SPAM emails a day @ work for my users (thank God for Spam Servers, blacklisting, and custom rules), dont need it to trickle into my PM box too!

I'm not sure Gustav would agree with you. You might want to send Gustav an email asking him about this. The vendors may be within their rights to do this, even if you don't like it as they pay so we can have this great board. Without sponsors there would be no M5board.com or we would be paying. Someone's gonna pay........

I'm perfectly ok getting a targetted PM from a board sponsor about a product I'm interested in. Sponsors are key to this board.

I agree that no one should get unsolicited PMs trying to sell them something. However, if someone has posted that they're looking for a particular item, I don't see anything wrong with someone PMing them an offer for a deal on it. (As long as that's the extent of it, ie, they don't follow-up or bug them.)

Yea the vendors on this board are awesome i have to say! The only time i have received a email regarding a vendor trying to sell me something was when i was looking for a particular part. They have every right to do so.

I appreciate it when vendors go out of their way for me. If I mentioned in a thread that I was looking for an RPI exhaust COUGH (I am in the market now, ST or GTS still deciding :byebye:)) COUGH then I have no problem receiving "bids".

Also, I think if you include a "Next" section in your signature, you're sort of asking for it. Just my $0.02

Agree, I if am looking for a specific product/service and our sponsors sell it, bring it on and give me the best price and service. If our sponsors don’t have the best price and service, the M5B0ard will be sure to let everyone know about it.

If their ethics are objectionable things like this post “Vendors I know times might be slow right now....” will happen.

Thanks for the support.

However I beleive non-wanted PM's should not be allowed. Another word's for those emails are SPAM.

Reply and quotes in a post is OK, but not unsolicited PMs I would say.

Unless Eloy's already sold it, I think we have one used ST exhaust at the shop. We rarely have something like this, so you may want to give Eloy a call and talk to him about it, and the differences between it and the GTS.
