I recently purchased a 2002 M5 and I wanted to install AUX into it. The current BM53 was not aux ready because it was too old and did not support it. I purchased a unit that is aux compatible and plugged everything in and it does not work. I messaged the seller on ebay and asked him about it and he said that the radio needed to be coded at the dealer. I tested the car with my old radio and it still functions. I am mostly just wondering if the radio does need to be "coded" at the dealer of is this seller just sold me a junk radio.

Thank you.
