M5 has two passengers, M3 is solo. darren_dallas is co-pilot and giving advanced driving instructions in the M5 (which explains the results), piloted by none other than the drift king himself, QS06M5. Enjoy.
Update: I'm messing with Q for breaking balls on the M3 boards posting darren killing my M3. Don't get me wrong, the M3 is fast but reality is that it is no match for an E60 M5. (assuming the M3 is running pump fuel, race gas is a whole other story) The first two videos illustrate the main reason anyone catches a video of a car in front of an M5, driver error. Q is good sport for agreeing to let me use his runs for educational purposes, educating the public about the misconception that they beat an M5 because their car is faster. In the first two vids Q was banging the rev limiter, hard. He told Darren he thought his cue to shift was the HUD flashing. Darren gave Q a quick shifting tutorial and the results of vids 3 and 4 are realistic comparison between the two cars. Also keep in mind, the M5 is 400 lbs heavier (than my M3) and has two 200+ lb occupants. I am < 200 and was alone in the M3. The M5 has a weight disadvantage of 600 lbs, and properly driven.. well watch and see.
