I thought my UK chums might like to know that a warranty for the M5 is available for cars that have done less than 130k miles.

This counts me out as mine is pushing 135k.

Flat rate for all M5 cars is £900 p.a. and for that price I would have subscribed. Copy of correspondence below -

Mr Edwards,

We can indeed offer a warranty on an M5, the level of cover we could offer would be dependant on the cars mileage.

All M5 cars are a set premium of £900.

I looked in to Warranty Direct about 3 years back, ended up saving the money. Having read the fine detail there were limitations on things like maximum claim which effectively meant you'd be dipping in to your own pocket as regards replacement Vanos.

Check the detail before you commit, although they may have changed the detail by now.:dunno:

Had a warranty direct warranty for the same price quoted above but on a 13 month deal. Replaced all the seals and bolts on the differential just before it expired. The renewal notice came to £1000 so i banked the money for a rainy day instead.

They can be a bit funny about what they'll cover.
A couple of years ago they stopped covering on Fiat Coupes as they said they'd had too many claims and it wasn't worth their while.

I know everyone will think that's because the Fiats were unreliable but from what I've read on here they're no worse than M5s and the average repair costs are quite a lot cheaper.
