Those CL65's are a freaking beast! Torque monsters for sure....
IMO, the best thing about 65's is how easy they are to tune. The only thing you need to get 700hp and 900lb-ft torque is an ecu tune and you can run low 11's all day (or high 10's in SL65) :)

There are a couple of very nice upgrades coming for the 65's also.. VRP is working on a 1,000hp+ SL65 AMG right now:

That's true, in the first race the M6 pulled on CL65 at 120mph+. The CL65 owner was then advised to turn off his traction control, downshift (he was in D in 1st race), and put more gas in the tank (it was less than 1/4 tank in 1st race). Apparently, these changes made a huge difference in performance.

What is VRP? I also know that the S65 AMG (old bodystyle) is a beast. The Porsche 911 Turbo Tiptronic had ig problems with that big and heavy car :)
Its a new AMG tuner based in California. Here is a link to their 1,000hp SL65 project:

I think ttm6's car is considerably faster than this M6. He may even take that CL65 if the race went long enough

This is CL65, NOT CL63.

I would like to see CL63 race.

The 65 should be fast as it is $198k and is a TTV12

HAHAHAHAHHAAH $198,000 hihahihahihahiha
You do realize that you can buy an CL65 for around $60,000, right? Here you go (these are of course last gen CL65 as in this video):

As you can see, the CL65 is actually cheaper than M6 on a used car market! Same thing with the SL65, you can buy 2006 for around $100,000 and its much faster than CL65 due to being 600-700lbs lighter.

P.S. M6 would beat the CL63 no problem, you'd be an idiot to buy the CL63 with such low prices on 65's and if you want the new body CL65, you would wait a year or two for the prices to come down in the low 100k range ;)

I thought last gen cl was only CL55 and not 65. Did not know they did CL65 for last gen car.
CL65 has been introduced in the middle of last-gen, in 2004. The new gen that just came out in 2008 is totally different and is available in four variants in the US: CL550, CL63, CL600, CL65.

Last gen CL65 (04-07) This is the one in the video:

But the power is roughly the same between the CL65 AMG and "new" CL65 AMG, right?
