Learnt something new today

You all know the M5's key hole in the trunk lid is covered by the new panel

Well what do you do to open the trunk mechanically to say get to a dead battery ?

Easy

Unluck the front door mechanically with the key, open the rear door, pull the rear seat back forward and you will find a little ring with a cable attached hidden behind the seat back

Pull the cable and you mechanically unlock the trunk

now that is a nice feature, is there a safety trunk release on the new M5s?
i think superbmw is referring to the safety trunk release...

? nice feature ?

i guess it would be a nice feature if someone decides to car jack you and lock you in the trunk of your own M5 and decided to toss you around in a few laps... hiha

"In general, it appears that the victims of trunk entrapment include two distinct categories: (1) people who are intentionally locked in a motor vehicle trunk by criminals and (2) children who inadvertently lock themselves in the trunk. "

I thought this feature was only on North American market cars... or have they introduced it for all versions now?
