I'm looking to buy a trickle charger for my battery. The Nautilus sounds like it will do the job. Here's a link to it:

What are your thoughts? Is their another brand that is better or am I ok to go with this one?

Does not appear to be a true 'battery maintainer'. Even trickle chargers can overcharge a battery if left on indefinitely.

A friend has the Ctek charger (tender) he would give me (free is always good) however I don't want to skimp at the cost of a few bucks. Ctek claims they are the smartest charger in the world:

I definitely recommend that Beltran, Battery Tender Jr. It's a great little unit and I have it on multiple cars and motorcycles.

I recommend the Battery Tender Plus not the Jr. If you ever get a new car with the Gel batteries (my new Nissan Maxima for instance) and not just the lead acid battery in the M5 you will need the Plus version. Also the Plus version is designed for temperature variations inside of a garage - hot/cold/humid/dry.


Spend the extra bit and get the Plus. Mine has performed flawlessly for years. Just bought another one for my other hobby car.
