On the parcel shelf I just bought, there is a mysterious triangle receptacle between the passenger side and center anchors. I searched around and thought that it might be for the center belt but some investigation on the car suggests that cant be possible. Is it possibly something to do with the pass through (which I don't have)?

There should be another belt mounted in the empty rectangle, it clips into the black triangle when it's not in use.

What is the other belt you refer to? Is it the center passenger belt? I am putting this in a 2001. Was this something for 2002?

I had to go out and investigate, but it's actually a seat belt for a 3rd rear passenger. You should have a pair of buckles below the center arm rest in the rear. The one on the passenger side is small; it receives the small clip that goes into the triangle piece on the parcel shelf. The other is a normal sized receiver, it takes the actual seat belt clip.

This is in a US spec MY2002.
