as per dinan
Those are theoretical top speeds. The car might pull 191 with the 3.45, unlikely it will pull that much with the stock gearing. Now, with an S3 and stock gearing, I think the car would get close......

Correct me if I’m wrong but top speed would not change regardless of how much horsepower you have if you are still using the same differential and smg gear ratios correct? Only difference is you will reach top speed faster. So even a stroker if still using the same ratios will still have the same top speed as a stock s85 correct? Only charge could be tire size? And my other question is has it ever been established if the top speed is actually 205mph or 211mph on oem ratios? Thanks

That would only be true if both motors were able to pull the same rpm. If the more powerful motor can pull a higher rpm, that car will be faster.

A stock M5 cannot pull redline in top gear. I suspect an S3 (same ratio) could get closer. But an S3 has both a steeper ratio (3.45) and higher redline (7300) and theoretically a slightly higher power power peak for hp. At 6600 rpm stock power peak, it has a top speed of only about 170 and at 7000 rpm it has a top speed of only 179. The stock cam will allow the motor to pull to 7300 but the power is falling off. At 7300, it falls of a cliff on the stock cam. But the 3.45 gives more acceleration in gear (although it reaches the top speed in gear sooner, so it feels faster in each gear). So gearing trades acceleration in gear for top speed.

Using a 2.65 gear ratio, my S3 clone has a theoretical top speed in 6th of 220 @6600 and 234 @ 7000 rpm. I don't know it can hit the power peak of 6600 rpm unless I had enough room (Bonneville Salt Flats?). It takes a lot of power at high speeds to overcome wind resistance. In 5th gear, it can pull 183 @6600 (having driven the car, very doable) and 194 @ 7000 rpm (which it might be able to hit running 8.5 psi).

Only charge could be tire size?
Same as changing the ratios, only much, much smaller effect.

No, stock M5 top speed is around 186 if it can hit 6600 rpm in top gear. I think there are some old videos showing it hitting about 6300 (wind resistance). That would be about 175.

I hit 320 kph in evolve supercharged stage 2,,,stock diff.6th gear
Not gps ,,it is speed dials.
I scared,,I did it only once.
I do not know if it will go faster.
The car fly,,very scary.

Thank you.
