what is the delimited top speed of a stock M5?
How about M5 delimited with Alpha N 93 octane software?
delimited M5 with Dinan SW NO HEADERS.
Alpha n 93 octane top speed witn headers?
Dinan s3 delimited top speed?

I believe a de-limited stock M5 will do 186 mph.
Maybe you should buy all options and test them?
I know one person who have done 308km/h according GPS with stock M5, only limiter was removed.
2001 - Dinan Stage 4 - FULL SS Exhaust (headers back): 198 mph by GPS

2001 - Evolve Stage 1 Alpha-N 93 - otherwise stock: >170 mph, by speedometer (it had more)

Actually you know 2 guys...

Exo did 309km/h GPS with his ex-M5...

I didnt know that before :p
220 kph i know the beast can go faster and i dare to go faster also,
I am just scared i will break her so i drive her nica and smoothly.
308 309...probably with some help of wind and downhill, other way they probably wouldn't hit 300 :) but yes this car is capable of going 295-300 km/h both ways
With mere (by today's standards) 400 hp, the top speed is m ore about bragging rights than a useable/applicable capability.

At the time the car came out, I remember reading in 2001 that someone had gone over 300 kph in Germany and I couldn't believe it.

How things have changed over time.

Other than the absolute top speed, the car does go up to mid triple digits very quickly, which is the usable part of performance of this beast.
Although I have never been over 100-110 myself (takes too long to go faster for my taste) I have seen videos of people hitting 130-140 fairly quickly.
I understand and I have set the cruze at 150 in my 540 6 just to say I did, stop thread crapping. This thread is about bragging rights even though it is not the fastest thing out there.

I dont see anything I said in my post that would be considered thread crapping.

To give you another perspective on what top speed is all about isn't thread crapping. If you are not looking for different opinions, dont ask a question on a public forum.

As far as 150 in a 540, I can only imagine how long it would have taken to reach "indicated" 150 on a 540. If you want bragging rights, get on a 1000cc superbike, tuck in and open the throttle. Doing top speed on 3900 pound behemoth is childish and dangerous and it puts innocent people's life in danger. Doing the same speeds on a superbike is just as stupid, only benefit is that its over much quicker and you have a bigger chance of hurting just yourself.
my top speed runs happened in the middle of the night from Madison to central Wi. Did it about 4 times. I don't know how long it took to get there because there are several curves on this stretch. Between 3:30 and 4 in the morn on a weekend in the middle of Jan in wi, no is around. I was 38 years old when I did this..... Calculated risks. Once again this forum is nothing like the RF days of old. The first couple of times I did not know what my car was limited at. So I just ran till I got that pucker feeling. I now have a evolve tuned m5. Same year. The 2001's have a taller rear end ratio...

Yep. I've done 309km/h GPS downhill. It did about 304km/h in the flat.

Everyone knows nordic countries get maybe an additional 10hp from ambient temp...:hihi:

Dinan s3 is supposed to do 2XXmph stock differential & 19Xmph w. Din differential

as per dinan

Top Speed (6th gear @ 7300 rpm with Dinan wheel and tire package):
3.15 Final Drive: 209 mph
3.45 Final Drive: 191 mph

edit:
wonder what it'll do with an 8800rpm redline and dry sump
