Had a discussion with Stevo re this option on the E39 Saloon recently .

I've never seen it on an E34 or an E39 Saloon in the flesh .

I had it on my e39 and a very handy option, collected alloys and the odd delivery to my engineers were made easy with it.

I had thru load on an E34 525i that I owned....
It was a practical option which also due to the reshaping of
the rear seat provided more of a three seat bench rather
than two "proper" rear seats between the arm rest.

It gives useful extra space.

These are for you Mr O:M5thumbs:

As you can see in the 1st pic the top of the centre blue leather is straight as opposed to the arched in the non through load seats. Heritage leather i cant comment on.

You can also see the lockable clips for dropping the seats

I'd only be interested if it had a diesel engine D.

Nice car, nice option.

Glad we finally cleared it up, although I will be writing to the various BM mags and ask that Classic MD Autos be removed from the BMW specialist sections, as such basic knowledge would surely be known by such a specialist....

Happy Friday,
