not looking for stupid comments... but i actually appreciate the ones here for what they are worth, i have seen some that look very good, some that look ricey and i dont know enough about this stuff to know the dif between components that made up either look to know what works.... think i will just do black rims and emblems
Go with what you like----You are the owner and know more about your likes and dislikes. Make it your own and don't worry what others say, as long as your happy with the looks that's all that matters...
I like the look of black kidneys and side grilles. Tint can be nice too, but I think 30% is a good number for it. However, I think the black tail lights and headlights really look tacky. Just my opinion, of course. If you like the look then go for it.
Btw, search on here for threads about blacked out M5s. Many members have done it to different degrees so you can look at some pictures and get a good sense of just how much you want to change to black.
I blacked out my Badge, kidney grills, side gills, and tail pipes but the headlights and tail lights are better to leave alone otherwise you give the hood gangster vibe to cops. I would get the euro overlay for the amber in your headlights though.
In the start I had everything blacked except the headlights(takes away from the overall stance). Ive now removed the tinted taillights and am left with Black kidney grill/// Black side vents/// Black turn sigs/// blacked emblems w/ CF inserts/// 15/5% window tint. Do it up big and buy some black angel eyes!!! ouich
Do what you like, if you have the ability to black it out you have the ability to OEM retrofit.
do it, all of what you said do it all, ive seen a few completly blacked out m5's (I live right next to melrose so i pass by platinum motorsport ALOT) and i have only seen good things from the blacked out ones except for one blacked out m5, he left the lip chrome and the wheels were 18' :sad3: but if ur gonna put rims 20+ do it
I have my tail lights tinted (painted outside with a mixture of clear/candy for cear coat) the guy does a whole bunch in our city and it looks pretty good. I went with the 50% look and if i did it again i might just only tint the top clear turn signal area. but overall i am happy. I have yet to get a good photo though it looks good in person. Also when the car is on the road the tails look real mean and aggressive with the lights on.
As far as the headlights i left those alone i might black out the eyebrow in the future.
