Few things :

The obvious: body work & leaks

The previous owner in the eyes

ticking noise ( vanos or bearings)

A dme read out from a BMW shop For fault codes

-drive it in p500s s6 to red line then shift . it should kick like a wild horse :)

There are way too many things to list to be honest. Look at the links above as a guide but drive the car in all modes and see if there's any noises. Something that doesn't feel/sound right probably isn't. Ask for documentation to show evidence of maintenance and lastly get a PPI. Bring it to a certified BMW shop that can look at the car for you top to bottom. A used car (any car) can be a huge money pitt if you don't take precaution when purchasing. Don't forget the obvious things like clean title and accident history. Mileage to me is secondary as long as it's been taken care of and you can usually tell right away. Hope this helps.
