Too expensive. When these was around 4000-8000€ they were reasonably priced, now just expensive.
-
@Eero H - many of these ,reasonably priced cars’ (;)) have a ,€5k to €15k+’
”dreamfactor/wishful thinking” included. Still, price levels seem to go down..?
....and more realistically priced cars are indeed changing ownership......

***) matching prod. date and first date of registration, this should be = BL01275 (?)
However, compared to the vehicle data sheet for BL01275, variations are as follows:
  • Full Black leather, instead of factory = (0475) Anthrazit, Stoff, M5
  • interior deco lists - refitted ?
  • M-technic aerodynamic mirrors - refitted ?
  • +/+

Hey everyone, I just joined the site. Thanks for starting and keeping up such a cool thread on the E34 M5 Wagon. I just posted a few pics of mine in the gallery section. I bought my 6 speed Calypso Red from the first owner in 2003 and put about 100,000km on it since. It never missed a beat. It is such a well balanced car, between the heavy yet direct steering, the 3.8 in-line six and the 6 speed box, the compliant ride and the practicality. I read that Chris Harris got one now... What a car!

Thanks for your encouragement; I need it! Ill have to start a separate thread to cover all the work.
What makes you call her the old working horse??

There are not so many in *mugello read' out there
I recall you mentioning that in the BAT auction; something like 5 tourings in Mugello??
Any idea on the total number of sedans and tourings in Mugello red?

@M5TouringE34 - you’ve owned your
car since 2003 !? were are you located, U.K. ?
Welcome to the forum and this thread !! Still, I will have to
bother you with theunavoidable question ;)
= what are the last three digits of the VIN of your car ?:cool:
(for the registry). Also, is it already or would you mind
to register it to the ,mregistry’?
-
Chris Harris = yes, great car indeed and prepared by David O.,
however it is not the real things, it is a replica.

Thanks for your reply! The last three digits of the VIN are 779. It was sold by BMW Switzerland in Dielsdorf on 11.1994 and has been registered and maintained in Switzerland since then. I bought the car in 2003 from its first owner and just celebrated its 180k km 2 weeks ago, accident free with full service history.
I don't know of the M Registy. Would you mind sharing the link? Last November, I contacted BMW Classics in Munich. I intended to get my Touring certified and schedule the next service at the factory (a good excuse for a road trip and a cool milestone!). Also, the car requires a bit of cosmetic work as the original paint starts to peel off in some areas and I wanted the opinion of experts in order to preserve the car's original value. Anyway, BMW Classics answered that they were undergoing a restructuring and would not be operational before spring 2020. Have you heard of that?

@M5TouringE34 -
Thank you for the trust, much appreciated. As it seems
your car is a new entry to the registry and earlier not known.
It is a pleasure to learn that this car is alive,
in good shape for it’s age and in good caring hands (y)
-779- Prod.date: 20.09.1994 - EZ/first day of registration: 23.11.1994
SA-804A - Schweiz = Swiss version car -
There were only 12 E34 M5tourings made in Calypsorot-met. (252 M) and your car seems to be unique as a 6 speed.
(I need to double check to be sure.)

I will send you by PM my e-mail address and the link to the ,bmwmregistry’ for you to decide if you wish to register.

BMW Classic is about to restructure again (???)
and the classic work shop is closed for external customers ??
Do they have enough work with their own cars ??:rolleyes:
which are quite a number by now incl. the museum cars........:(
I have a contact who works there, I will ask him what is going on and in the worst case if and how it will effect him.

Thanks again for your contact and interest :)(y)
take good care of -779- !

,the old working horse’ ;) do you really wish to know ? :confused:
that is all history now and it is much appreciated that you
make en effort to bring the car back to former
glory. During some period of it’s life-time this car was used to perform heavy duty transports, in a way that could be cause
for a heart-attack for many other owners of these cars ;):cool:
After all these are ,tourings’, made to transport people
and ,things’........ ;)
The good news, it’s been in caring hands and from the pictures on the BaT auction the car seems to have survived
the treatment surprisingly well.
A picture tells more then a thousand words, but I do not have them digital unless there are still pictures to be found of
the ,hard working horse’, somewhere in the Internet.
