So, of particular note here is the part hiding under the plastic.
You can see the flex-to-hard pipe joint on the upper end of the hose, but there is another lower down hiding under the plastic. You will be surprised how much effort takes to flex that lower part in place on a new hose to the pump discharge. IMO, this "bolt-up stress" could be responsible for some of the failures on these. It seems the hard pipe portions could have been pre-bent a little better to relieve this, but given you have to insert it in a small hole from the top may have precluded that.
Take care installing it, maybe over-flexure of this during initial engine builds led to the failures. Either way...take lots of pics.
