Right, I now have a (sort of) definitive spec for the new beast:

STANDARD FEATURES (in addition to standard 545i Touring)

[403?] Panoramic Glass Sunroof
430 Auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
522/502 Bi-Xenon headlights with headlamp washer system
563 Extended lights package
609 Professional navigation
610 Head-up display
760 High gloss shadow line
Alpina roundels in seats and rhombs on door pads

OPTIONS

S10 Malachite Green Individual paint
Silver decal set
320 No model inscription
8022290 Caramel merino Individual leather
438 Dark Poplar wood
456 Comfort seats front
455 Active front seats
453 Active seat ventilation, front
4MF Active seat back rest adjustment
496 Rear seat heating
775 Anthracite headlining (can you believe they have the nerve to charge £250 for this???)
524 Adaptive headlights
633 Bluetooth telephone preparation
261 Side airbags for rear passengers
316 Automatic tailgate operation
761 Sun protection glass
417 Side blinds manual
493 Storage compartment package
601 TV function
620 Extended voice control
677 Logic 7 Hi-Fi system
672 6 CD changer
BMW Individual rear-seat DVD entertainment system

You wouldn't believe how long it took us to figure out what were options and what was standard, and what the likely pricing should be! Apparently, all the saloons ordered in the UK so far have had pretty standard spec, with only a few basic options...

I think I'll have to beg Buchloe for one of their stronger engines to haul all this lot around!!! :hihi:

Picking up from Buchloe in October...

****, just realised I forgot the heated steering wheel... and the kitchen sink option!

Wow, great specs. The B5 is trully a real Alpina again - power, power, power and still a great daily ride.

Do the Alpinas come with the adaptive steering (or what is it called)? I once test drove a 530d with that option and it felt kind of awkward.

Cheers, Alex

Nope, no dodgy steering - don't think it's even an option on the B5.

Wow ! great spec - you've really gone to town on it :)

The B5 demo car is nearly standard and had a great spec - your car is going to be out of this world... Can't wait to see it.

On the last point I drove a 330i yesterday at Millbrook (among other things :) ) with active steering and I certainly wouldn't recommend it and know why it hit the parts bin on the B5 - for anyone with an ounce of driving passion it has to go....

One other thing: your a lucky b*st.... ;)

The yare. Soo much similarities with for example M3 3,2 and B8 4,6. Maybe

High-revving vs. torque

Could I suggest a Magnum 45 for the armouring test? :1:

:nono: No seriously at 4000 EUR each windshield....... we must be careful!!!

As for dinamic levels.... well the 6.9 weights something like 3000 Kg..... so don't expect fulgurant speeds for them, also the inertia when cornering is .... well intimidating!! kinggf

Actually, Ashok, you'll like this - I'm now toying with the idea of black alcantara for the backs of the seats (it's the built-up ones with the DVD screens, remember) and for the rooflining...
