Bored & sitting here at Spec-Wheels having all four corners repaired, so I'm going to write this "blog". I hit a pot hole a few months back on Gun Club and Quincy which resulted in bending of both passenger side wheels. The front driver side has some corrosion (for some odd reason) and the rear just needs to be trued. After all said and done, total cost should come out to a little less than $400, which is very reasonable. Don, either a head tech or proprietor of Spec-Wheels, is a great guy to talk to; no BS and he explains/shows the customer what he's going to do. Roamed around for just a little bit and saw wheels from Honda to Bentley. Also, a lot of dealerships and indy shops outsource their wheel work here.

Oh yeah, I'm going to file a claim with the City of Aurora for the damaged wheels.

Follow-up: great work with truing the wheels; the front bent one couldn't be repaired, so Don had to replace it with one already in his warehouse. The true test was going down E-470 and no vibrations could be felt at all. Highly recommended.

Don is a great guy, really knows his stuff as I've had multiple wheels refinished by Spec over the years from past cars. Did you just have the wheels "trued" or did you have them refinished too Cris? When I inquired about a total refinish for all 4 wheels last year, he only gave me the option of a much darker than shadow chrome finish or a light metallic silver finish. I really only needed the rim edges refinished so I ended up going with "Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists" to replicate(as close as possible) the OEM shadow chrome finish.

Chad - I only had the wheels trued. Don did say, right of the bat, that he won't be able to replicate the paint, but only get it as close as possible. I'd like to get the wheels re-finished to the original color eventually; how was Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists? I think I spoke with a guy named John from there once upon a time.

Kevin - Can't seem to get away from the crappy roads! Yes, running stock rims; I'd like to get a square set up in the future.

Yes, the owner of Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists name is John. I like their work, but I only had the lips repaired to all four wheels as he mentioned there really is no way to replicate the shadow chrome finish(too many stages of paint and the price would be crazy expensive) Price was still $100 per wheel to do just the lips in a very close satin gray finish. Come check out what he did to my wheels sometime to see.

Kevin- So you got the headers installed? And???????? Inquiring minds want to know!
