Polshrk is coming in the am to pick up what has been the very best
car I have ever owned. Its been a great board to be part
of. I am now, just a middle aged beastless ol man, but I,
in my mid-life crisis, have a new girl to keep my youthful
figure, the 03 Silvergray M3 convert. I will return when I
buy an 02 or 03 again(yeah, and I most likely will) do
it all over again. In the mean time, Its time to start the
modding process on the M3 (I will miss the burble of
my V8).

Been there, done that..............

This board is a great place for people to hang out and talk cars. You will always be welcome (as have I in both BMW and Porsche days).

Good luck and stay involved

It is a little early to say bye bye to this board. Let's hear some posts of how the E46 is great, and how it compares to the E39. Too bad the beast had to go, but that doesnt mean you have to go. Enjoy the M3.

Please stick around, your insight has always been valued and well written. We do not want to lose you just cause you moved on to the M3. Sorry to hear about the sale of the Beast but just think of all the joy you are bringing into another member's life (or curse depending on how car crazy they are;) )!

I will, definitely stay on the board. I know it sounds crazy going

to an M3, but I had the jones for a convertible, and the M3 is the
only convertible that does it for me. I do intend to buy another
E39 M5, it may be a bit, but I will have one again. This was my
3rd E39 (2 previous 540 sports). I usually get bored with a purchase
after 6 mo or so, obivously not so with the M5, almost 3 years
in one car, even my wife was astonished. Goes to show you
what a stupendous car the beast is!
As I said before, this is the bets and has been the most informative
board. Now I have this and one good M3 board.
Thanks!

I love the way the 3 Series cars drive. When I got my 330i ZHP, I also had the M5. The 330i became my car of choice because of the tactile feedback of the steering and suspension and the overall balance of the car. I am not a convertible guy because of safety and for the fact that you can't drive them at the BMWCCA track events. I am sure you will love the M3 for quite some time.

Sounds like what I'm thinking about doing! But it's cause my wife wants a vert. I think the M5 has gobs more power exsp. 60+ but the M3 is very agile! My only complaint about the M3 is the horrible exhaust rasp! BTW what options did you get on the M3?

Have fun!

I echo the others sentiments- please stay around. Congrats on the new vehicle, share some pics and the mod plans. And also congrats to whomever bought your now former Beast. Tell us more about the M3- what options did you get? SMG?

..

Kind of a late read and post but I love his car! I had another E39 M5 at the time (June 05) and just recently parted with that one (late Jan '06) to a fellow in Oklahoma.

I loved going out with both keys and which ever one beeped is the one I took for the day. Kinda sad to see the Anthracite one go as it was my first beast, but the upgrades on the silver one make me smile every trip it goes on.

Thanks again Stevus
