Hi there,

My car has done 80k miles and the clutch slips in every
Gear,it seems to operate ok but the diagnostics have logged a number of hydraulic faults,including pressure over and under and I'm not sure whether to replace just the clutch assembly or the hydro unit itself or both!!


It just seems like a worn clutch but the GT1 suggests not?

Reoccurring code is 004FA0 SMG : clutch (activation,position deviation)
Are there any others?

Possible causes for 4FA0 are:
- galled CRB/guide bushing
- o-ring leak-by on clutch valve (internal to block, no visible leak)
- slave cylinder leak-by (visibly dripping out of front of bell housing drain hole)
- PLCD errors (usually paired with 510D and/or 510E)
- SMG in bad mood.
