Got a letter from BMW yesterday offering $2000 off the purchase of an M3 if I took a test drive.

I dunno... from what I am hearing.. the last allocations are going fast. Definitely interesting...

A customer has a difficult choice: get the last of the discontinued E46s or wait over a year for the E90. BMW is obviously giving the financial incentive to ensure that inventory is cleared before the wait is no longer a large factor.

This sounds to me like something they need to do before they make an official announcement on the new M3. As soon as they do, people will start putting off their purchases, $2,000 refund or not.
