HAIL TO THE KING, THE REAL KING.
==========================
I've always been complaining about how small was the RR Phantom's rear legroom compared to the last model, RR Phantom VI.
The name Phantom in RR should really apply to a car that's not driven by its owner, but rather by his/her chauffeur. Unfortunately, the market demands a driver's RR (such as a Beverly Hills Mom who wants to exchange her Silver Seraph to a newer model) and RR was not financially strong enough to produce two models (a Phantom and a new Seraph).
Fortunately RR in 2005 releases a Phantom LWB model, which is totally what the name should be since the beginning. The added 250mm (about 9.8-in) rear legroom makes this Phantom LWB a bit closer to Maybach 62.
IMHO this Phantom LWB is worthy enough called a Phantom VII.
Look a the size or the rear legroom (now it is similar to the old Phantom VI)
Phantom LWB
Old Phantom VI
... and the "fake" Phantom
More info:

PS:
The old Phantom VI was designed with a very tall roof so that you can even wear a hat (or even a crown) comfortably on the back seat
too bad you can't do that in the current car
