Do all Z8's have the S62 Motor?
Is the Z8 S62 pretty much the same as that in the e39 M5?
Did BMW use the S62 as the basis for any other BMW V8's?
If not, I wonder why?

the z8 does have the s62, but the "alpina roadster" did not. That version of the z8 had a bored and stroked M62, a 4.8 L like what is in the new x5 4.8, designed and built by alpina. It was a better match to the mandatory automatic trans that the alpina had.

No other production cars used the s62.

Both E39 M5 and Z8 have S62 engines, but with different oil-pans and different exhaust systems.
