kinda have similar performance as an e46 m3 right? ive seen better 0 to 200 times for the m3 and as well as the m5. somewhere in the 16 second margins. so i guess this will make a tough 60 mph rolling start race vs the e39 m5 or e46 m3. cant wait for the e90 m3.

Yup, the 0-200 km/h indicates that it will not be able to outrun a healthy BMW M5 E39 , which is good news. Also significantly more difficult to tune than the older RS4, which also is "good news" ;)

59.7/40.3 f/r weight split. :nono: When will Audi learn?

Interesting that the New M5 has 100 HP more, but weighs 400lb more and yet still toasts the RS4 in a straight line. We already know what the M5 will do to the RS4 in the twisties. :haha:
actually its only approx 100lbs more no where near 400lbs. The mass is in the 1700kg bracket according to the article.

The RS4 weighs ~3800 lbs while the new M5 tips the scales at (rechecked this) ~4012 lbs = 212 lb difference.
as long as the M3 is less than 1600kg (3500-3600lbs) it should leave it in its dust

This rs4 test is even more funny:

http://www.channel4.com/4car/road-tests/driving-impressions-2005/A/audi/rs4/rs4-2005.html

Funny how they keep comparing the rs4 to a 6 year old m3 (6 years when the rs4 will be out in january).

Test sounded like when they compared the new s4 with the m3 on top gear when some kind of retard, which could not be the true stig, drove the m3, if anyone recalls that episode where they thought, wow the audi engine is so cool, its a 4.2 with less horsepower then the m3s 3.2.

Well, the AMS times for the new BMW M3 were released today.

km/h
0-100 4.9s
0-200 16.7s

To compare: RS4 B7, as tested by AMS
km/h
0-100 4,4 s
0-200 15,6 s
http://www.einszweidrei.de/audi/audirs442v8fsilim2006-1.htm

So much for quattro power losses ;)

Interestingly the 997 C2 with 325 hp is faster than the new M3 as well.

AMS apparently can't drive. Motor Trend in a quick test complained of poor traction but still got the following:
0-60 4.4 sec
0-120 15.1.
I know 60 mph isn't quite 100kph but it won't take another .5 sec. Ditto for 0-120 mph.

This is what Auto Motor & Sport wrote when they tested it versus the new BMW M3:

"The Audi RS4 is faster, better looking, larger and talks better to the driver."

Apparently it is.

I have checked a few 997 C2s and I didn't find anyone which is slower than the M3. (as tested by AMS or sport auto)

You need a 997 C2 Convertible to go slower than the M3, according to the data.
:nono: SUPRA,

1) Thats a C2S (355hp engine) you mentioned the C2(325hp engine). hmmm
2) You probably forgot that C&D got 4.4sec (4.6) 0-60 (0-100km/h) on the new M3, making it faster than the C2S links you posted.
3) One off the links reffers to a 381hp C2S (with optinal sport kit) :deal:
4) No C2 can run 110+ traps. (see C&D with the new M3)

So yes, the new M3 is faster than both C2 and a C2S:byebye:

The one that can only keep up with the new M3 is the 381hp C2S ($10.000,00 optional)

Please get you data right before posting. Enough of the M3, this thread is about the M5 and the RS6.
