Our new trunk mounted shotgun lock is contructed of steel and features a quick release lock (you can set your own combination). Price is still being determined but it will be around $200-350. The purchase of any of our new line of BMW security products will also allow you 50% off any of S4P's (seven4para.com) shooting or defense classes.

Eloy, do you carry any hand gun mounts for inside the car? I currently carry a beatdown stick by the driver seatbelt buckle, good easy access but nothing like a quick draw mount for my Ruger.

You TX guys are very fortunate...in OH (with a concealed handgun license) you must have your gun in a holster on your person or in a closed case or purse...

Am I the only one who finds it strange that a racing/performance company makes and sells weapon mounting equipment as well? I have nothing against guns, but to me it kind of diminishes the focus that "Race Precision" has as a company.

The first thing that comes to mind is "Jack of all trades, master of none". Maybe a subsidiary of RPi would be a better way to go about this. Just my $0.02.

I think you just have the wrong assumption that this will "diminish" their focus on car performance products. Eloy's other passion/hobby/business (outside his more than full time focus on automotive performance) is tactical firearms and combat training. Seems like a simple case of him having a need to make something for his M5 as a possible use for his other business and decided to produce it for others who may have the same need/interest.

Your answer is in the original post! perhaps you should have visited the link before making assumptions.

As you folks may have guessed, the product was designed and produced through Seven4Para (a sister company of RPi) for distribution through RacePrecision.

You are right, iansjames, purity of purpose is an important to part of any good company. RacePrecision has always prided itself on producing automotive performance related products that yield consistant real-world reproducible gains. However, this is a case where a sister company has brought out a product that I think our customers would be interested in. :)

+1 -- can't believe i haven't asked you this before. I currently keep my .40 or .45 in my glove compartment, which is essentially useless if I'm in the car and need it. There's really no good spot to keep a pistol in this car without heavy fabrication.

Btw -- the shotgun mount is awesome. Nice work...

I actualy did visit the site and didn't find any reference to the product there. There was also no mention of it being sold through that site in the original post, only a disount on other services. But thank you for your input.

Thanks for that...I personally think the product is great and so are all of your automotive products...I was just giving my opinion as a fellow business owner, which it seems you agree with. Sister companies or completely different/unrelated corporations are always the best way to go with ideas like this. The last thing you need is for there to be an issue with a firearm accessory, which could cause a huge issue for the automotive division of your company.

I intend on ordering items from RPi very soon and was just commenting. I have nothing negative to say or feel about RPi.

Good luck with the new products.

All the best,

Ian

Goes under the category of "optional equipment".
The good people CAN NOT let the [email protected] win.
Like I've said before. A man who's permitted to have a gun is a citizen. A man who's not permitted to have a gun is a subject.
