Just noticed that the rod bolt torque spec for a S14 is 55nm, but the S38 spec is 5nm, 30nm, and then 60 degrees.

The S14 and S38b36 use the same rods and bolts, so why the different specs?

Just curious if anyone knew.

Could be just the date it was specified. Later Fasteners are torque plus angle to reduce friction error in the clamp load.

They could have just gotten better at specifying it.

I have a nice little book with all of the torque settings ( I forget who publishes it ) and it simply gives a Nm figure , no angles .
