The rieger sideskirts for the E39 look a good bit different:

I'd like to have some E39 side skirts with vents though

Oops sorry Peter, thought you had Rieger. I guess you have Kerscher.

Check out the Kerscher side skirts for the E39 M5 if you want vents. I have a set, but am still on the fence about installing them. There are pics of them somewhere on the board.

You're right! I had seen these on the board previously. After looking at them again, I understand how you feel. I do really like them, but something just isn't right. The E39 has very subtle lines and styling, then these sideskirts just have a little too much going on to blend well.

IMHO the e39 M5 is BMW's interpretation of power and elegance. Although I do like body mods on certain cars, the e39 is iconic just the way it is and I prefer to leave the exotic body kits to rice burners muscle cars. I'm not knocking anyones taste since my mustang and Mazda both had pretty extreme body kits but I prefer to leave the beautiful strong lines this beast has alone.
