Does anyone know if this is possible? Perhaps with minimal hardware changes? There are some E60 owners out there who have managed to do so but I wanted to see if there are any other efficient methods out there.
My goal is to:
1. Not buy the Bruce/Miranda cables
2. To achieve the Ricky Brake Effect but
3. Also retain the safety features such as: brake light failure checks, Brake Force Display (sometimes referred to as adaptive brake lights)
4. Still retain welcome light functions

This guy basically gets it done with some hardware changes to the harness and programming but ultimately has to deactivate some features such as bulb checks.

A guy named Ehssan has seemed to figure it out in this link but I'm not clear how, and he has supposedly sold his "knowledge" to a "retrofitting company".

From what I know of the hardware side you would have to add a load in the circuit to simulate the bulbs. Alternatively you need a VO from an LCI car and find the bits to load with NCS to cover the taillights. The easy way is to code out the report and move on.
