Does anyone have experience or know whether Euro SMG affects California's new Smog Check rule which has begun to verify the check sum of DME's I believe came into effect late 2021?

Yea, I was surprised as well. I had smogged with the FAMS tune a few years ago as well, so I'm guessing they look for checksum changes on a car over time as opposed to verifying against known checksums. Odd, but makes sense with my prior experience getting a S54-swapped E36 M3 legal - the ref told me manufacturers do not provide them with calibration ID/CVN lists.A passing FAMS on the other hand is surprising to me but hey if it passed all good!
Thanks a lot for the data point. I wasn't too sure because I saw some vendor stating the euro SMG will impact CA Smog. I now also confirm that I passed smog with Euro SMG. Vendors probably wanted to protect themselves if SMG tune caused customers car to fail the smog. They also use terms like "off road use only" so they wont get in trouble with laws or EPA.Thanks a lot for the data point.
