Hi,
Seems I need a replacement engine for my '91 3.6. The least I need is a good block preferably with pistons, or anything up to a complete engine. In case of a 3.8 it would have to be complete with all accessories (as the mountings are different as I understand it). Apparently my block cracked - it is leaking coolant through the block, I believe that is irreparable. So it would seem my options are to get a new block (haven't asked BMW for a price of that yet :eek:oohhh: ) or look for a salvage block/complete engine. I guess the price ratio of these solutions will be the decisive factor. Any advice/info is of course most welcome. BTW, can I fit a 3.8 engine without altering my existing 3.6 powetrain, i.e. gearbox, drive shaft and rear axle, in case such an engine is available?

Regards
