So it happened :thumbsup:

Was on my way to work in my M3 when I spotted an LeMans Blue M5 with a Säpo (Guards the Royal family among others) just behind it going on Norr mälarstrand. So I was thinking "Hmm, weird how can that M5 driver drive so fast with this Säpo car just behind him, isn't he annoyed?" I don't think Säpo are allowed to take your license but it you just don't do that.

But when I thought about it more I of course came to the conclusion it must be the King! Because it's the way from Drottningholm to the Castle in the city. So I went after him jsu to make sure. You, when passing him because he got stuck in traffic it was indeed the King. LeMans Blue M5 E39 model year 2000 with black exclusive interiour. And 17 inch wonter wheels.

And a funny thing: some kind of royal emblem or crown in the right part of the kidney in the front of the car kinggf so that is a easy way to spot him if you don't spot the dark blue Volvo 850 Turbo with extar lights in the back bumper and extra mirrors on the A pillar.

Next goal: Get him to race :haha2: :viking:

For some reason or another, I can't see any Royalty over here doing the same - driving pah!! that's for peasants', being driven, well that's more like it.

You were lucky, I am surprised that a King's escort is quite loose.

In my personal experience, last year I raced an Ambassador's car in a Bullet proof 750iL (VERY thick glasses), funny thing is that when we were stuck in a traffic light he went away before the light even turns green ---> such a moron grrrrrrr. I don't know whether the is afraid of being followed or just wanna excercise Diplomatic immunity.

similar thing used to happen driving across Holland and Germany in small Army convoys. We would have police escorts if their was a strong terrorist threat. Great fun, not stopping for anything but not fast or warm in an opentop Land Rover

I was thinking, maybe it's "woth it " just to bump in to him to get to talk with him But he already thought I was a moron because I passed him in another lane and did a thumbs up but he didn't get it Though I was crazy, we'll maybe I am hehe.

I got his licensenumber, I'll have to check up when he got it delivered :thumbsup:

Anyway, it was very clean and he drove kind of fast, at least 80 km/h on a 50 km/h stretch so that's good seem to floor it

Regarding his speeding through Denmark witnesses said he was going well over 200 Km/h and that made the headlines all over Sweden that summer, he suppsoedly should go to the airport i Denmark. He ad his 456 GT BTW, I'm sorry to say it's an automatic

I know he has a Le Mans blue M5 because he stayed at our hotel last christmas. He used it as his winter car kinggf . It has to be of the 2001 model because it had the facelift and offcourse fully equipped. He was here for a crayfish party at his friends summerhouse.
