Rear Diffuser Needed

232 Views 8 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  adonis
Does anyone know where I can source a rear diffuser for our cars that actually fits? The ones from eBay and Aliexpress are mostly all trash, none of them fit flush with the stock rear diffuser. I don’t mind if it’s carbon fiber, black, or unpainted. I just want one that looks good and fits!

I’m also looking for a roof /rear windshield spoiler, however I can only find them with the 3rd brake light notch for the pre-LCI coupes.

Nearly all of them need a body shop to fit them properly with bonding and some screws as they were never made for the car.

Try BMW E63 E64 M6 Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser

I got mine from them but had to wait afew weeks (2 months I think) but sold it on as it didnt fit around my IPE exhaust!

They all suck some just suck a little less than others.

The only option is probably Dinmann that would actually fit.

I went thru three of them all different vendors and all sucked.

I got a custom made one only 3 ever made:

Several years back I got one off of eBayfor my previous 2010 coupe. It was made out of flexible plastic which I painted black. It was very easy to mount because of how flexible it was. Nowadays I can only find them made in carbon fiber or frp (fiber reinforced plastic). I tried both, they don’t fit on one side and are both really rigid so there’s no way to coax them into fitting across the stock diffuser. I just don’t feel comfortable getting my rear bumper drilled in with screws so I have to be able to mount it only with double sided 3M tape like I did with my previous diffuser.

I actually already checked out the one in your link. How wide are your IPE exhaust tips? I’m wondering if it’ll work with my Eisenmann oval tips which are 120mm wide for each tip.

Thanks for the suggestion. I check that one out as well. I’m sure it’ll fit, and I wouldn’t even mind paying the $1100 price tag but I’m not a big fan of the Dinmann diffuser’s look.
Has anyone tried the Modbargains one? I would imagine with their high reputation, they wouldn’t sell a part that didn’t fit. Looks like it’s around $800 shipped.

Yes I did, returned it. Fit horribly.

Damn, that's unfortunate. I'm surprised they're selling this type of junk because they're pretty well known for aftermarket bimmer parts.

I guess I'll just keep trying until I find one that actually fits and maybe I'll have to resort to drilling which I was really hoping to avoid. I'm so used to having a rear diffuser on my M6, it looks so bare without one!
They all probably come from same factory in China lol Mine was in the end.
I got this one, it has some flex on the ends so easier to install, but will need bonding (+ screws) and bigger opening so should be fine for oval tips.

A decent bodyshop will be able to install it properly without any issues. The IPE tips, 4×83 mm are not as wide as the oval tips so the above should be fine.
