I have been having a slight whine on my rear diff. I am planning on trying to use the e46 whine reduction diff fluid made by bmw. I will post the results tomorrow.

Could it just not be low on fluid? Do you have any visible leaks or wetness around it?

I have a slight diff whine, I think I'm the only person that can hear it. None of my passengers have ever complained. I changed the fluid and no change with whine:confused2

Rear Diff Whine

So jsut got the car back adn they repalced the rear diff seals as well as put the fluid into the rear diff. Actually the it sounds much better. The rear diff seals were weeping so I changed those out. Lets see what happens next. Overall the whining has gone away and the car is much more quieter. Will post more results after the summer
