Does anyone else have bright orange stickers in the rear door jams that says somthing like "rear airbags not operational". Probably some USA thing. It looks like the airbags are installed based on the stamping on the leather above the door arm rest. Anyone know what's up with this? Just curious.

i was told by my dealer that the rear airbags are installed but deactivated by default in the US.

your dealer should activate them upon your request free of charge.

my understanding is that if you transport kids in the back seats you're better off leaving them deactivated since the force of the inflation is strong enough to hurt a small child.

if you only transport groceries and adults there's no good reason to leave 'em off.

thanks for the information, shawn. i'm having my rear bags activated today at my 1,200 mile service. and i am not requesting an oil change, because i agree with the tech who told me it helps the rings seat, and helps the car have a more successful breaking-in by leaving the synthetic oil in longer.
