"Good afternoon.

I am a Detective with the Organised Motor Vehicle Theft Squad, please feel free to check my IP address.

I am making some enquires about a 1989 BMW Alpina B6 3.5Lt and have been direceted to your site as a source of information.

What I'm requesting is a photograph of GENUINE Alpina VIN body stamp, the reason for this is I'm investigating a vehicle, suspected of being re-birthed or re-bodied and the ALPINA VIN stamp has been been re-stamped into a donor vehicle. I would like to see a VIN that is known to be genuine original for comparrison against this vehicle and I cannot locate a suitable vehicle locally without resorting to the internet."

Gustav - I know of this car and the reason for the new chassis number.
I'm also pretty sure who is responsible.

Tell the policeman to contact me offline on my alpina-archive email address.
