After being a bit busy with a house move, I finally found the time to sort the steering out.

New boxes being unavailable, a bit of research led me to the door of Holman Engineering in Surrey. A week after dropping the box off, he had stripped it and advised the worm and nut were fine, and new shims and bearings would have it back to spec.

Picked it up yesterday, and it's as the man said, perfect.

New drag and track rods aquired from BMW

The steering is now spot on. Absolute dog of a job getting the box on and off with the engine in, but part of the fun, no?

Also gave it a service with gen filters and a gallon of Edge 10/60

Investigation into the lumpy tickover revealed this

New one aquired from dealer and now runs perfectly.

Next job is shocks off to Poland, and new bushes throughout. Missus hasn't Discovered the bills, so it's win win ! More to come soon.
