can anyone point me at a source for production numbers for E39 Apline White 540 6 speeds and M5's


need ammo for the insurance complany that is representing the guy who totaled my dearly departed 540-6 speed ... rearended me at 50+ MPH ..Iwas stopped fro a guy and his dog in a x-walk a block from home .... now Im trying to get what i need to go shopping for most of an Alpine white M5

really would be awesome if some one knows ... my search for cars to BUY didnt yeild but a couple in a SEA of black and silver

This will hurt your cause, but I see a lot of Alpine White E39s that are 528, 530, and 540. They are uncommon for an M5, however

That's a good point. White is one of 3 or 4 base colors on non-M. if you wanted a metallic color, it's additional $$, or included w/ a package. IMO that's probably why white e39s exist in large numbers.

There may not be many AW M5's but they sure look good. I wonder if it is because people buying the M5 new wanted the metallic paint as an "add on" so they could say they had every option. Personally, I think AW is the second fastest color....to bluewater.
