The power steering on my 2000 M5 seems to be dead. There is zero assist at idle, but if I raise the rpm's from idle to 2500-3k I get some assist. This seems like it would be related to the pump, due to the change in engine speed affecting the steering operation. Anyone have any experience with this? Any input is appreciated.

Low fluid, slipping belt? Servotronic disconnected/break in wiring?
