I have a chance to purchase an 2007 M6 all black convertible for less than wholesale. It's in very good condition overall (71,000 miles). The V10 engine is running well with no fault codes. However, the SMG clutch will not engage at all (extreme slippage) and gives the following fault codes using the OBD reader:

5200 SMG signal engine speed faulty
4FA0 SMG clutch
4FA1 SMG overload of clutch
510C SMG crankshaft signal
520A SMG signal steering angle is faulty (DSC)

No warning lights are showing on the dash....i.e. no yellow cog So would the assumption that a new clutch is needed be reasonable? Approximate cost to do at an indie?
