I really wanted some thoughts on this...does driving in M mode cause more or faster wear on the car than non M mode...also, I would assume it's hard driving civilizied in damn traffic when it on...again thoughts?

I don't think it does or if it does, then it'll be minimal. Ride it like you want because it's a performance machine. I have no issues driving civilized in traffic as long as you know how to use the throttle properly and be im proper gear/rpm.

A guy on reddit DD'd an e60 m5 for 5 years and used m mode s6 always except when it rained. His original smg clutch lasted 80k miles, which is not abnormal.

M mode is whatever you set it for with the I-drive. Now that I am comfortable with the power I drive at 500 with the DSC off and all six bars on the SMG. I want quick shifts, no messing around get the clutch engaged. I think the worst thing you could do is drive the SMG in auto mode, there is just too much shifting and bogging the engine.
