Okay, just for fun here is my bet for my invoice price out the door:

Anyone else? :haha:

Base price 84,000.00
Destination & Handling 645.00
Premium Sound 1800.00
Satellite Radio 595.00
Power sun shade 575.00
Registration (AZ) 2800.00
Gas Guzzler 1000.00
Sales Tax 7400.00

Out the door 98,815.00

I'm assuming most anything else I may want will be stock, just my guess but what else do we do while we sit here and wait!

I think Base MSRP is around 81K - undercutting the E55

I have no idea on the options

I think the options will be priced the same as they are on all the current models, the only speculation is on just what will be included. The US M5 cars have "in the past" been fully loaded.

I bet you are very close on the base price. Very close. What's the deal with 2800 + 7400 = $10200 in taxes in AZ? Dang. In NC, with a price of $87,615, total taxes would be $2628.45 and you would pay ~$30 to register it = out the door of 90,273.45 + $1000 gas guzzler tax = $91,273.45.

They will be in Canada, from what I understand.

Best regards,
Alcantara roof lining was not standard on the E39 M5 in Canada. My guess is that you will get it with the full leather option.

My information is that alcantara roof lining will be standard in Canada but full leather will not be available until the Individual Program is up and running for the 2007 model year at the earliest.

Out of curiosity, which dealer list are you on?
BMW North Scottsdale.

Sales tax here in Scottsdale is ~8 percent, also our registration is based on the price of the vehicle, however it's tax deductible, or at least it's supposed to be!

I think the sport seats will be standard, comfort seats and other material upgrades etc., if available I would think will be options here in the US.

I thought the gas guzzler tax is dead. According to a (non-BMW) dealer, it applied only to models manufactured through some month in early 2005. Anyone know for certain?

For the US , the "gas guzzler" tax is still in full force . " Trucks " are exempt, that's why 400-500 hp SUVs that get 11 mpg get a free ride . It's the sports car and high hp sports sedans buyers who get screwed.

The " luxury " tax ended 12/31/02 .

I was pretty disapointed that I did not get the Alcantara roof lining on my E39 so your info of it being standard on the E60 is good news. That's too bad about the full leather and individual options being delayed in Canada, this makes colour and leather offerings pretty thin. :crying2:

It seems as if a lot of E60's have already been pre-sold. My dealership has aldready pre-sold several of them. Do you think that there may also be seom dealer mark up as well?

In Car & Driver's favorable preview of the M6 in the July issue, C&D estimates the base price of the M6 as $90,000. Given the reported 18,000 GBP difference in the UK between the M5 and M6, I wonder if C&D is underestimating, if the difference in the US will not be nearly as great, or if it knows something we don't. The difference in base prices between the 545 and 645 in the US is $14,100 ($55,800 v. $69,900). It would be reasonable to expect for at least a similar difference in price to exist between the M5 and the M6. If the M6 is $90,000, does that make the M5's base price under $80,000? If so, major kudos to BMW, but I am not holding my breath.

C&D is underestimating.

MSRP M5 -$85K

MSRP M6 - $97K

No way does the M5 go under $80K.

I'd say about $87,000 nicely optioned including full leather, vented seats, and premium sound... plus $3000ish gas guzzler tax (whatever 12mpg is). I've configured both the 330i and 750iL on the US site and the UK site as well as the M5 on the UK site and extrapolated the pricing. What a deal relative to the UK and elsewhere.

I'm not as curious about pricing as I am delivery. Anyone hearing new US delivery rumours ?
