I am considering mounting a set of Pilot Sport Cups (on stock wheels) but have found that the rears only come in a 285/35/18, which is wider than the stock 275s. Is this 10mm neglegible?

Anybody with experience, opinions of this tire? Kurt.

if you run the Cups you need the 265s (there are a number of posts on this) which are the same width as most 275s

my experience so far is that the Toyo RA1s hold up better under the weight of the M5 -- the Cups are initially faster than the RA1s (although that difference might not be much starting out on shaved RA1s) but i got less than a dozen heat cycles out of the Cups before they started to go off. I've talked to M3 and Porsche guys that have had varied experience with the Cups and I think they're better suited (as is most everything else) to lighter cars.
