I finally got round to taking a few pictures. Its carbon black, full option, full leather, double glasing 2002 model, has ipod and comfort seats.

Now the wheels are not my chose and I am going to change but haven't got round to it yet. The opinion on them is very divided. Some love them others hate them.(its very black or white with these ones it seems)

The guy must have been drunk when he chose them. I'll keep them for winter tyres.
Yes, the wheels 'look' heavy. Nice car over though. Now for the slippery slide down the path of modifications..... :haha2:
It's already got lowered springs, and I juste want nicer wheels. The reste I don't need, maybe just an x-pipe for a little bit more sound. The problem here in Switzerland is that it is difficult to modify legally a car. And 400 cv is plenty...but time will tell as always
why did some people not like the car? Too dark?

Not the car, but the wheels.(what is there not to like about an M5, they all want one and envy me) :M5thumbs:
that's why I asked :hihihi:

I guessed
I am trying to find a video or at least a recording of what just the X-pipe with oem sounds like. Its suppose to not make a big difference but thats what I'm looking for.
Looks mean. Can't say the same about the rims :hihi:
Funny how the front plate is so tiny, even smaller than the allocated space.

Our front plates in switzerland are very small(luckely) but the allocated space is for german plates that are the size of a billboard.

As the car is built to Europeen specs and that they come from germany we end up with big plates holders.

Althought other Europeen countries also have bigger plates than us. Switzerland has always been an execption not being in the EU

And the rims are definitly going......
The wheels look a bit funny. However the car looks excellent!

Well it seems that you are all unanomous on the wheels. Thanks for being upfront,(I don't like them either by the way and negotiated a discount from the garage who sold the car to me of an equal amount to the price of oem rims.) So I'm hunting for new rims, which I can say is far from easy
Thank you for sharing pictures of your Beast. She looks great!!

I also am not a big fan of the wheels, but remember it is your baby - so don't worry about what others think. If they grow on you and you like them, keep them. (But it sounds like you aren't thrilled with them either.)

It is all personal taste. I'm thinking about getting the original wheels chromed as I think that will look sharp on my Jet Black Beast. Others will cringe at that thought. ouich

So far, I've not seen another design that I like for the M5 - but again, it is all personal taste. Good luck and please post pictures if you change the wheels. Thank you! :cool2:
Best Wishes,
Alfred

Chrome sounds real nice, a few on the forum have done it and with the black it will look great. If I had oem's I probably would do the same but as I have to buy new ones I'm looking at my options. OEM's are superbe but fragile. And I don't think these will grow on me, but on ther other hand, I've had her for a month now. :hihi:
I like the rims. They are masculine and subtle. Not in your face "hey look at me bling bling". I think chrome is too soft for the M5.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

As I said above, Some like some hate but no one is in between. I'm not in a hurry to change though and am going to keep them for winter tires anyway. They do have a bit of curb damage so I'll be thinking long and hard. I to am not a big fan of pimp my ride style but as said above they may grow on me. Do note that they do look better in person than on the pics. Thanks for standing up for my rims.
Lovely looking car, very clean  but I think I am with the majority on the wheels, not really to my taste but if we all had the same taste life would be pretty boring :haha:

Plenty of wheels available for the M5 which look superb. Give the search facility a look as there are plenty of pics available to help you make up your mind.
Nice car! Do yourself a favor and get new wheels! You can use those for snow tires or coffee table, just kidding:1: Take care!:M5launch:
