Of all places, JEGS has E39 control arms in stock. Since I have Powerflex bushings lying around somewhere, all I really got these for was to temporarily have spare thrust arms in order to operate the vehicle with while the OEM ones got the urethane bushings. Interesting thrust bushing on the Dorman product, however. Check out my attached pictures.
I might just leave these in to get an impression of them after so many miles. A hundred bucks for a pair of replacement aluminum arms with new bushings and ball joints doesn't sound like a bad deal, and the bushings don't look too shabby. That yellow piece may be a urethane insert? :dunno:
also, because the ball joint isn't replaceable, expect that to go, very quickly. in my experience, the casting quality is alright, it's the wear components that they cheap out on.
For a manufacturer, a good, long-lasting ball joint will cost more than the cast aluminum.
EDIT:
1) USE ANTISEIZE!!! That "black oxide" coating WILL rust, and will create HELL getting it off.
2) find a different nut! that nut isn't a nylon-locking nut, nor does the ball-joint thread have a hole drilled through it - lockable with cotter pin and castle nut.
The other problem is that the knuckles hate having the joints removed, and you're likely to pull the the steel insert out of the knuckle one of the times you have to replace it.
woah woah woah! I don't care about who makes it, if it's quality. but, Dorman wear parts are for used car dealers trying to get a car through state safety inspection for rock-bottom cost.
The disclaimer is always there, that post didn't have a special warning because it wasn't needed THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS SARACASM. IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY SARCASM PLEASE STOP READING THIS POST IMMEDIATELY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I am very concerned about this because I have some Dorman parts in my car I will have to weigh the fuel system connectors ASAP  Now if we were talking about URO parts this would all be obvious hiha
See how that works??
