Most noticable are the headlights. Go to the M5 section of bmw.com and browse around. Seems liek no M5 Touring section yet and not all pages are correct yet.

From Product Planning and Strategy BMW Dealer Bulletin entitled "MY 2008 5 Series Facelift".

"The MY 2008 5 Series will begin production in March 2007 and will debut at the New York Auto show in April 2007."

"The vehicles will also receive more luxurious interior, additional options and a refined interior."

Specifically under the M5 section on the fax includes this:

"The M5 will receive the same interior enhancements and exterior headlight modifications as explained above." "Exterior Colors: Space Gray metallic (A52) replaces Silver Gray metallic (A08), Monaco Blue Metallic (A35) is now available, Platinum Bronce Metallic (A53) will be available as of 06/07 SOP". "New Options: Heated steering wheel (248), Soft close automatic doors (323), ipod/usb adapter (6fl)".

"The interior of the 5 Series has been revamped with more premium design. The vehicles have new doors with wood trim along the top. The new front passenger door handle is wrapped in leather and the location of the door handles has been moved. The window buttons are made of a softer material, the center console is wrapped in leather, and pearl-gloss chrome inserts are now on the radio and temperature controls." "Ipod/USB adapter (6FL) will now be available as a factory installed option. This allows customer to fully integrate iPod's functionality into Idrive when connected. The does NOT use the CD changed connection."

Im not sure but on the last picture the tail lights seem to have a circle close to the lisence plate...I am not sure if my 06' M5 has it.
Yes, your's should, even my wife's 550i has those circles.

I am studying these pix against my car and really can't distinguish any difference at all.

This biggest change to the headlights is the clear transparent plastic enclosing the blinkers. The previous blinkers had a transluscent patterned texture (like a reflector).

What is strange is that BMW have chosen to go with LED rear blinkers only, rather than the entire rear taillamp (like 03+ M3)

The benefits of LED lighting (less energy consumed, longer lifespan, and quicker lighting response than incandescant) would be better realized when applied to the tail/braking lamp.

This must be one of the mildest facelifts I have ever seen..The pics posted in this thread show no visual changes at all ..And the headlights..well that minor, isn't it?

The rear spoiler is different though, it appears to be integrated .

Ah, so much better ergonomically. The position of the window/side view mirror buttons is just so awkward in the '06-'07 models.

What about it?

Not so sure about that. We have a new 3 series with the same positions. Unless you are a girl with short legs and seat forward, you have to stretch out and lunge forward to reach the buttons. Everytime I want to open the front windows without looking I end up opening the rears. Never had that problem in the beast.:dunno:

The center photo of the driver's side door interior looks odd ... no door handle to pull on? Yet the photo on the right shows a vertical door handle on the passenger side. Huh?
Good call. The drivers side looks like a 3 series with the horizontal handles. The passengers side looks like the M5 with the vertical handles. That's gotta be a boo boo, otherwise BMW's design team is enjoying more than their fair share of tasty beverages on the job:cheers:

Yes, very strange indeed :confused2 hmmm

The driver's side door does in fact NOT have a door pull, instead, there is just a pocket handle on the armrest to pull on. This is stated in some of the verbage in another thread.

Also, no change to the rear spoiler. The picture simply shows an M5 without one. That is the standard trunk lid lip that is on all 5 series.

I can live without having LED rear lights and whatever minor change to the headlights, but I sure do wish I had programmable buttons!!!

I wonder if those will be able to be retrofitted?
