For those of you inquiring about the ride height with the KW Coilover's (v.3) here are the pics. It has taken about 6-weeks to get the ride height "just right". No rubbing, even with rear passengers. As far as handling, the car handles like it is "on-rails":hihi: !

I just got the new license plate yesterday..........

Rob,
What type of window tinting do you have? I ask this because it appears to have a mirrored look. What's the brand name and the tint percentage?
TIA.
Robert
it's probably a quantumm film. it's three metals and it pulls out the color of the glass itself.

Re: KW Coilover Ride Height & New Lic Plate...

The window tint is a Llumar film (Platinum Plus), Pure Sputtered Lumallory (High Metal Content). 35% on the front-door windows & 18% on the rest of the car. Because of the high metal content it has a silver look to it......has a 52% Solar Energy Rejection as well.......

Have you had any noises or anything you can think of complant wise?

Love the plate - congrats!!

I think the front needs to be a weee bit lower - still looks means though.

You guys in US have it good when it comes to chroming alloys!!

Looks real good, congratulations. I love the pic of the right rear quarter, that photo captured the blue tint in the Carbon Black paint as good as I've seen. I have a few questions and a few suggestions.

Did the coilovers sacrifice ride qualiy? How much time did it take for each (4-corner) height adjustment? Now that you have the ride height finalized, are you going to get a 4-wheel alignment? What kind of exhaust?

Now for the suggestions. That car would look perfect... if it didn't have ambers. I know, they seem like such a waste of money, but IMO your car is oh soooo close to "being there". If you don't want to spring for clears, maybe $50 bucks on Silver visions would be well spent to get rid of the egg-yolk look. I hope you don't mind my saying so. Your car is truly beautiful as-is.

Bill,

That's Tubi my man! I agree with you on the European headlights, they are a one of the few "must do" modifications for the M5, in my opinion.

I may have asked before, but what's the reasoning behind selling your M5, if it's not to personal?

Thanks for the suggestions, questions and compliments. I will address all.....

Jayson:
whats the ride height from center gap to fender?
13.5" Fronts / 13.25" Rears (measured from center of center cap to
fender)
Is that up as high as it goes or can you raise it more...
Ride height is fully adjustable (Up or down), but if I lower it anymore I
get some rubbing when driving through dips in the road.
Have you had any noises or anything you can think of complant wise?
No noises. No complaints. Lots of compliments everytime I get it on
the road. The car handles COMPLETELY different, but in a good way.
Keep in mind I did ALL the following at the same time:
KW Coilovers (v.3)
Dinan Camber Plates
Powerflex Polyurethane Bushings
Front & Rear Eibach Anti-Sway bars
Front & Rear Dinan Shock / Strut Tower Braces
So, the handling is nothing like OEM. It is EXTREMELY "tight" and feels
like it is "on-rails". Point the car where you want it...and it goes there
without reservation.

Thanks! I absolutely love the plate too! Everybody that see's it gets
a real "kick" out of it too. I realize it is a bit "over the top", but
hey...no need to be modest.........not my style. You only "go round"
once, may as well have fun, and don't take life to **** serious!
I think the front needs to be a weee bit lower - still looks means though
As I stated above, I could go lower, but I will get some rubbing on
occasion. I have had it lower, and although it looked good, it was a bit
too much for my everyday liking. If I was 20yrs old, maybe I would
drop it a bit more, but after having it both ways, I think overall this
look is the best of both worlds...classy, stylish, and still mean looking!
You guys in US have it good when it comes to chroming alloys!!
You can get yours done too. Look here . They did a great job...at a
great price! I get compliments EVERY SINGLE DAY about those
wheels!

Thank you!

Boy...you are right about that!
Did the coilovers sacrifice ride qualiy?
You would be really surprised. The ride quality is effected very
little...I was amazed at how the car retained it's ride comfort. Yes, it
is definately "tighter", but still rides like the exotic sedan it is!
Without coaxing, all my friends have mentioned it to me when they
ride in it...it's amazing!
How much time did it take for each (4-corner) height adjustment?
You can adjust all four-corners in an hour. Really nothing to it, except you must lift the wheel off the ground. I did it with a hand jack a couple times...easy.
Now that you have the ride height finalized, are you going to get a 4-wheel alignment?
Done
What kind of exhaust?
Tubi Cat-Back (listed in my signature)

I will be looking at that option, but for now I have spent lots of $$$ on
what I have already gotten done. Everything I have had done thus far
has been to improve performance, handling, functionality, or a
combination of the above (ok...except for the wheels...lol!). Truth be
told, I find it pretty hard to drop 1k to get clear lights to replace the
amber. But, I agree the clear would look better....I'll keep an eye out
for some at a "great deal" price! for now I will try to keep other cars
with a good view of my Tubi exhaust tips...lol!
I hope you don't mind my saying so.
Not at all. You were very complimentary and had some good
suggestions that you expressed with a "helpful" tone.
Your car is truly beautiful as-is.
Thank you very much Elevens

Very nice drop....I love my KW coils also :cool2:
Thank you! How much did you drop yours? Has your experience
been similar to mine in regards to finding that happy medium between
getting the car too low (rubbing) and getting it just right? I would
love to see pics......

M5DAL:
I am in love with chrome wheels again!
There is NOTHING like the brilliant look of chrome. Chrome reflecting steel........never goes out of style!

I appreciate all those that commented. Thanks for taking the time to look at my car and thanks for sharing with me.........

I know it's fully adjustable up and down the reason i ask is I have never seen kw put out their drop range or if i did it was like 30mm which is 1 and 1/4 inch and i was wonder since everybody with kw's seems to run around 13.5 from center cap to fender if it can in fact go higher...ive been waiting for reviews on pss9, so i can decide which coilover to go with...while i love your stance, i think i prefer for road reasons around here to go a little higher maybe half an inch higher than you did and wondered if thats posible with the kw's...hope my ramblings made sence :)

I'm going to roll my rear fenders maybe this week because it's rubbing a little bit when I hit certain bumps with 4 people in the car.

Here are some pics of my drop:

Yours looks great! I originally had mine at the same height as yours, but even after rolling the fenders I STILL got some occasional rubbing...I would just cringe everytime it would rub, so I raised it about 3/8"........no more rubbing and it seems to handle a bit better???//

Thanks for sharing, Robert. Your Beast looks awesome! The rear qtr shot reminded me of how mysterious Carbon Black can be in different light (I use to enjoy seeing my Beast under lights at a shopping mall flouresent lights, which showed off its true midnite blue colour :sad3: ).

The lowered ride height really does improve the look of the Beast and the chromes are classy while still retaining the look of a "stock" M5.
Again, Awesome. I think you are done, eh?? :haha:
Cheers,
Kevmmm
