Found a loaded 2007 (black on black) 20k miles CPO with all the upgrades and am picking up tomorrow then driving 550 miles back home. That will be the test!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I think I’ll bring along a screwdriver and get rid of the carbon filters when we stop for lunch! <o:p></o:p>
First mod.<o:p></o:p>

Thanks for all the feedback-<o:p></o:p>

Congrats. After you get the first carbon filter out, the second one will be much easier!

You will enjoy it. I got mine in April and drove 350 miles with the top down to return home. This is my nicest car so far, and my first convertible. The best part is that my wife was not with me saying that I was going too fast. My only mistake was not joining the board before getting the car.

Congrats!!!

And by the way, aside from Ajax and Randy, this is a pre-LCI thread -- look at all the 2007s (and one 2006) that congratulated you... :D

Let us know when you get it!

I live in Maine and found mine in the Chicago area. Flew out and drove it back this past September. It was a 20 hour, 1100 mile ride. After a long delay trying to find out why the SRC light kept coming on I finally left the Dealer at 5pm. I almost drove straight through with a 1 hr nap around Niagara Falls. Unfortunately it rained a good portion so no top down, and to my surprise NO speeding tickets. It was very difficult not to want to let the beast run!!

Thankfully I had found restraint and used the cruise control, albeit I set it at 78... It was also a treat figuring out what and how everything worked while driving almost 80 at night and in the dark. I pulled over after 3 hours for a dinner break and to figure out how to LOCK the doors . Never having owned a BMW it was self embarrassment.

How far is your drive going to be?

what does removing the carbon filters do?? and how easy is it to do?
Allows the engine to breathe a little easier, with zero downside and no warranty impact. There are lots of posts on the removal process (tricky, but not difficult with the guides on this board).
