Nice motor

anyone know if that plate number is real and how much it was purcahsed for?
The plate is ALP 117A this is the really old style reg. Correct me if I'm wrong. As to the cost not sure. Some times you get lucky and if no one realises what the plate could potentially spell out you can pick up a bargain.

I know about the plate - I was amazed how little it went for.....

Basically the UK government DVLA holds auctions monthly with some great registrations going under the hammer - most of the time for not much money (certainly compared to what private companies charge) Also the private companies often list registrations that the DVLA still own !!

DVLA Site

They have a search facility for previous auctions too:

DVLA Auction Search

Anyhow back on the point :

ALP 117A £1,600 Sold in Dec 2002

But, I didn't notice that this came up last year though !!

ALP 111A £2,500 Sold in Nov 2003

The registration plate is owned by Sytner who also own:

B10 ALP
B3 ALP
SYTN3R (or something similar)

and
FS 1 (Frank Sytner 1)
