Not hard to do - it is simply a GPS unit that has a database of camera's, etc and it tells you when you get near one.

The X5World folks have developed a set of POI's for the nav system - I think it only covers speed cameras in UK or Europe however...

Check out the Passport 9500i ... it is a radar, lazer detector that does the same with a database of photo cameras.

Yes not hard to do.. The value is in their database.

We do not have speed cameras in my area (currently anyway). The part I like is the "known speed traps", redlight cameras, schoolzones. Folks report traps to them and then they get into the database. Could be an area where speed limits change and cops hang out...
